Ms Dawn Hurst will become programme leader for Fine Art to replace Johanna Hallsten
Mr Jim Gladwin will become programme leader for 3D Design New Practice to replace Dave Scott

Where can I find the Regulations for my programme?

Programme Regulations can be found in the Departmental/Programme handbooks at http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/ac/dep&program_handbooks.html

Where can I find my teaching timetable?

The teaching timetable to indicate when Studio time, Critical and Historical Studies modules and other core modules are scheduled will be available in your programme area at the start of term. The periods indicated for each module include both periods of face-to-face contact with staff in lectures, tutorials, seminars and group crits as well as time made available for self-directed study. The responsible examiner for each module you do will provide more specific information about fixed meetings at the start of the module.

I can't remember what modules I am studying during the coming year.

Your module choices will appear on your 'My Modules' page. At some time during the summer vacation this page will change from displaying the previous year's work to displaying the next year's work.

The Learn Server is still showing last year's modules. When will it be updated?

People who are taking resits need easy access to last year's information. The update process usually begins in the middle of September.

I have done some Resits. When and how will I find out the results?

The Programme Board following SAP resits is scheduled for 8 September 2009. The results will be posted on the Learn server 48 hours after the Programme Board meets.

Will I have the same Personal Tutor in the coming year? Who is my Personal Tutor?

Wherever possible, you will keep the personal tutor that you have had in previous year. If you have just finished a Foundation programme at Loughborough, you will be allocated the same personal tutor for your degree programme, unless that person is directly involved in the delivery of your new programme.

If a member of staff is absent from the Department temporarily then arrangements will be made to assign you to another personal tutor until your own personal tutor returns. If your personal tutor leaves permanently, then you will be allocated a replacement tutor. You will be notified of any changes by email..

When does Teaching start?

Teaching starts at 9.00 am on Monday, 28 September 2009.

Can I change between the 3 year programme and the 4 year sandwich programme?

All Students about to start part B (year 2) on courses that offer a sandwich option, will be given an opportunity to attend a briefing about sandwich year placements that can be undertaken between part B and part C of the programme. If you wish to be considered for a sandwich placement you will be advised how to apply after the briefing. Further information can be obtained from Jan Shenton j.shenton@lboro.ac.uk

I'm coming back after a year in industry (DPD year). When will I have to do my DPD presentation?

Jan Shenton, the Sandwich Year Tutor will contact you to make arrangements for your presentation.

What are the dates of Assessment periods?

The assessment period for semesters 1 and 2 is weeks 13 -15 of each semester. Degree show installation for Part C starts on 31 May and the Private view will take place on 11 June 2010. Details of other critical assessment dates will be contained in your student handbook.
In most cases you will be expected to undertake preparatory work for semester 2, during the assessment period for semester 1. Full details will be contained in your individual departmental handbook.

When do the assessment results come out?

The end of year results are released 48 hours after the programme boards have met. Boards have been provisional set for 1 July for Part B and C and 8 July for Part A.
