Groundwater development

The objectives of this network are to promote the sharing of information and knowledge regarding the exploitation and management of groundwater resources in a development context.

The network will be open to all organisations and individuals who are active in, or interested in, groundwater development. The initial focus of the network will be intentionally broad, and will include groundwater exploration, exploitation, quality, and management. Network members will be invited to suggest areas of special interest for future focus.

Initially the network will operate in three main spheres:

  • The network will maintain a register of members, and of their main areas of research, or their main areas of interest. This list will be maintained and circulated to members on a regular basis. It is hoped that the network will be able to provide a service connecting enquirers to other network members with relevant expertise.
  • A quarterly newsletter is planned, which will seek to update members on new initiatives and highlight interesting and relevant research and publications.

A topic centre web page will be established. This will concentrate on providing links to other networks and Internet sources of information. It will also provide access to the newsletters and to technical reports submitted by topic network members.
