Information on accessibility and emergency procedures

Travelling by Rail

Regular Intercity services operate between Loughborough and other main line towns (Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield) - including daily trains to and from London St Pancras International, only 90 minutes away. This journey planner will help you with your plans. Once at Loughborough's railway station you are just ten minutes away from the campus. From here there is a regular bus service (Sprint) which runs from the station through the town centre to the campus every ten minutes during term time. You should get off at either the library (building 18 on the campus map) or Mechanical Engineering (building 12 on the campus map).

Travelling by Coach or Bus

Coach and bus services to and from other parts of Leicestershire and the UK operate from the centre of Loughborough. If you are travelling by National Express or regional bus services to Loughborough centre, you should then connect with the local Kinch bus service (Sprint) to the Loughborough University Campus. For enquiries about all these services call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.

Travelling by Car

Loughborough's nearest motorway link is the M1: the campus is just two miles from Junction 23 and you should follow the A512 towards Loughborough. After two miles, turn right at the roundabout, which will be signposted to the University. The university is clearly signed on all the other main approach roads to Loughborough.

For 'Sat-Nav' users: To help ensure your satellite navigation system gets you to Loughborough University correctly, use the postcode LE11 3TZ when setting your destination.

When you arrive, Security will advise you where to park and issue you with a temporary parking permit.

Travelling by Air

Loughborough is only 7 miles from East Midlands Airport (EMA), which is served by a number of airlines, including bmibaby, easyJet and Ryanair. The Skylink bus runs hourly from the airport to Loughborough town centre. From there you should connect with the local Kinch bus service (Sprint) to the Loughborough University Campus.

Loughborough is about 60 km from Birmingham International Airport (BHX). The train journey from the airport to Loughborough (change at Birmingham New Street and Leicester or Derby) takes about an hour and a half to two hours.
