Department of Physics
The Physics Department is located in the Sir David Davies building in West Park on the University campus; the building also houses the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. The building is labelled 8 on the campus map.

Loughborough University
The University is situated about 2 km west of Loughborough town centre and about 2 km east of Junction 23 on the M1.

Getting here by rail or coach
Loughborough is served by East Midlands Trains, with services running from London (St Pancras International) via Leicester to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham. See journey planner. The railway station is about 4 km from the Physics Department. A frequent bus service (Sprint) runs from the station through the town centre to the campus. Get off at the library (building 18 on the campus map) or Mechanical Engineering (building 12 on the campus map). National Express runs long-distance coach services from London to Loughborough.
Getting here by car
If coming on the M1, take the A512 towards Loughborough. After 2km, turn right at a roundabout, which will be signposted to the University. If coming on the A6, follow the signs when you are close to the town centre. Stop at the barrier where you will be given a Visitor's Permit.
Getting here by air
Loughborough is about 12 km from East Midlands Airport (EMA), which is served by a number of airlines, including bmibaby, easyJet and Ryanair. The Skylink bus runs half-hourly from the airport to Loughborough town centre.
Loughborough is about 60 km from Birmingham International Airport (BHX). The train journey from the airport to Loughborough (change at Birmingham New Street and Leicester or Derby) takes about an hour and a half to two hours.
