LUCU works with
the University on policies, procedures and practices that affect the
performance and well-being of its members. LUCU has contributed recently to
developing:
As such we are keen to be involved in any institutional
initiative that may affect our members’ work performance, social life and
dignity. We provide support and advice to our members when they feel that
they are not receiving fair, equal and respectful treatment. USS Pension Scheme - proposed changes &
on-line ballot result UCU held a consultative ballot
seeking support for its negotiators’ position on possible changes to USS, the
pension scheme in force at Loughborough and most of the “old” universities
for academic and related staff and others on grade 7 and above. Major
changes which would seriously reduce the pensions of new entrants are being
proposed by the employers. In addition, they want to increase the
present contribution paid by members, whilst maintaining the employer’s
contribution at the same level. The results of this ballot were announced at UCU National
Congress on 30th May. The
ballot was conducted online, with votes verified by a unique membership
